Lena, a fifty years old prisoner at the end of her sentence, is confronted with her life after prison. With the help of Aurélien, the social worker in charge of her follow-up, she visits her future apartment.

But her first steps in the outside world are torn by this long-awaited and dreaded release. Lena tries to find her bearings in a place where everything reminds her how difficult it has become for her to live outside a 9 m2 cell.

Amélie Navarro and Gaëtan D’Agostino met on the set of “Contre-Courant” in 2014 and immediately wanted to start a project together.

Gaëtan is an actor and director, writing and directing for theater and film. Amélie is an author and director, writing and directing for both literature and film. Their common desire is to talk about rehabilitation and women in prison.

Between Gaëtan’s in-prison workshops in Belgium and Amélie’s participation in round-table discussions at the National Prison Days, this desire evolved into a story. And so PAST BEYOND was born.
