In the wake of the Taliban’s return to power in the summer of 2021, Bolour, a 19-year-old music instructor, was urged by her family to swiftly depart Afghanistan. The one cherished item she insisted on bringing with her was a Robab musical instrument that had been passed down to her from her father and grandfather.

Helia Behrooz is a female Iranian/American filmmaker. She studied computer science in Iran before relocating to the United States.

She recently graduated with a degree in film production from CSUN in Los Angeles and currently continues her education in Business Administration.

A Morsel of Love (2022, Iran) & Bolour (2023-Iran) are her first and second directorial and Production debut as student projects.
