It is opening night, the theater is full and Clara, the leading actress, refuses to leave her dressing room. Something inside her is keeping her from leaving, something she will have to face.
Jano Pita was born in Figueras on November 2, 1992. After four years studying Philosophy and Humanities at the University of Oviedo, he trained in Film and Video Production at CIFP CISLAN in Langreo (2015–2017). In 2021, he completed a Diploma in Film Directing at the Instituto del Cine de Madrid. Today, he also teaches horror cinema at the Madrid acting school Actores Madrid.
A passionate lover of genre cinema—especially horror and B-movies—Pita has always known that this was the kind of filmmaking he wanted to pursue. His work reflects his fascination with 1970s horror, DIY visual effects, and the use of genre as a tool to tell more universal stories. His short film Teratoma (2021) was awarded at over 40 international genre festivals, including Mórbido Film Fest, Curtas Festival do Imaxinario, Calgary Underground, Nightmares Film Festival, and A Night of Horror. He is currently distributing his latest short, Apotemnofilia.
